Step 1: Meet Basic Requirements - To be eligible to get a real estate license, you must be at least 18 years old, have no felony convictions (some exceptions apply), and have US citizenship or be a legal or permanent resident. No previous sales experience or educational attainment required.
Step 2: Complete our 77 Hour Salesperson Licensing Course - Purchase and complete our 77 Hour Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Course. This course is divided into 20 separate sessions that can be taken in any order at any time. The classes are available online and can be completed on your computer or via our Mobile App REC4SUCCESS.
Step 3: Pass our Proctored Exam – a minimum score of 70% is needed to pass our Exam. You can take the test up to three (3) times. Our primary location is 275 Madison Avenue, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10016. However, monitored exams can be taken at numerous sites throughout New York. Step 4: Pass the New York State Salesperson Licensing Exam - After passing our Proctored Exam, applicants are required to make an online reservation to take the New York State exam. To register for the New York State Exam, please visit the Department of State website.
Step 5: Locate a Sponsoring New York State Broker - Once you pass both exams, find a Sponsoring Broker. If you need assistance, Real Estate Center 4 Success has connections at most real estate brokerages in New York and is happy to help you.
